A group of skilled military elite join forces to fight an underground terrorist network.
The above sentence is the entire plot synopsis given for the upcoming Saban Films release, Rogue Warfare. If we’re being honest, it’s a pretty generic synopsis that we’ve seen a thousand times before. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation. There are plenty of good movies about an elite team formed to take down baddies.
Here’s to hoping this is another. The trailer is promising. Check out those explosions!
Rogue Warfare was written a directed by Mike Gunther, a former stunt coordinator with credits dating back to the early ’90s. And his credits, they’re good. A quick scroll through his IMDb profile will have you spotting a number of familiar titles from film and television including Cop Rock, Nash Bridges, Wanted, Gilmore Girls (1 episode but still!), Fast Five, Bumblebee, and a whole lot more. He was also Keanu’s stunt double on Street Kings.
All of this speaks to me. As does the cast that includes Stephen Lang, Will Yun Lee, and Bertrand-Xavier Corbi.
Conclusion – I’m looking forward to watching Rogue Warfare when it’s released to theaters and On Demand on October 4th, 2019.
**UPDATE – 8/28/2019, 3:19 PM PST: Rouge Warfare will also be available digitally on October 4th, in addition to theaters and On Demand.
