DANIEL XIII: Can you give our revoltin’ readers a brief run down of the Zombinatrix story and how you came up with the concept?
BIANCA ALLAINE: After many years of working on other indie films in various capacities, both my husband, Michael Kyne, and I felt ready to make our own feature length film. He came up with the idea of a zombified dominatrix, hence the title Zombinatrix, and a few days later I came up with the tagline- “She’s into whips and BRAINS!” From there, we came up with the bare bones of the story and began fleshing out characters. We have both been very hands on with the project and it has already garnered a lot of interest and attention, which is extremely exciting.
Without giving too much of the story away, Zombinatrix is about Mistress Tawny (who is also the titular character), a popular dominatrix, who is murdered and, after a series of events, rises from the grave to seek vengeance on her killer. It is a very stylized nod to ’80s horror comedies.
DXIII: How has the filming been coming along, any major ass pains?
BA: Filming has been wonderful but this is a very ambitious project. The only major pain has been that filming has been almost entirely financed out of our own pockets. When we have more footage to show people, we will kick off a big fundraiser to drive this baby home. (Our visual FX team, Webster Colcord and Ralph Cordero, are creating a WICKED stop-motion animation monster!) I would love for your readers to check out the campaign. We’ll have some awesome perks like a part in the movie, killer merchandise, and much more!
DXIII: How easy is it for you to become the Zombinatrix? Are there similarities to your own personality?
BA: She’s such a fun character to play! Once I am fully in makeup and the sexy outfits, it’s very easy to become Zombinatrix. She is me- only turned up to eleven! It is so fun to be so bad.
DXIII: I know it’s early, but any plans to make this an new fright flick franchise?
BA: Absolutely! My dream is to have Zombinatrix become an iconic horror character, in the vein of vamps like Elvira, Morticia, Vampira and Frankenhooker! Merchandising and franchises are all a big part of the plan.
DXIII: Where can the ol’ Coffin Club keep up with the latest and greatest news from the world of Zombinatrix?
BA: You can join almost 18,000 Zombinatrix fans and get all the latest updates, press and behind the scenes photos at the official Facebook page!
