We thought the cinematic Re-Animator franchise was forever dormant after years of inactivity, but it would appear that there’s another movie in the works – only this time without the involvement of series figureheads Brian Yuzna, Stuart Gordon or Jeffrey Combs. So it looks like we’ll have to keep waiting for House of Re-Animator after all…
The new film is called Re-Animator: Evolution and it is currently in the works, expected sometime in early 2017. The movie stars some known names too, including Brad Dourif, Johnathon Schaech and Lin Shaye. The film will be directed by Serge Levin, who seems to have quite a few nuggets in production as we speak.
Per IMDB: ‘Pursued by the police, an ambitious neuroscientist uses a neutrino impulse to bring his dead wife back to life, unintentionally unlocking within her dormant powers that threaten the existence of everyone he knows.’
According to the Facebook page, the film was originally called Antihuman, so it might just be a case of an original film being repackaged to fit a franchise, like most Hellraiser sequels.
Who knows how real this is as there isn’t a lot of information to be found at the moment, but we’ll follow it religiously.
Thanks to our very own Seb for discovering this.
